Selfish.

I didn’t know what that word meant the first few times that I heard it…but I heard it pretty often.

Selfish.

You’re selfish.

Don’t be selfish.

You have everything you could possibly want.

Why are you so selfish?

Good girls share.

Good girls put others first.

There are children starving in Africa… eat what’s on your plate.

Don’t be selfish.

You have so much.

Share.

Share your parents;

Share your house;

Share your food;

Share your clothes;

Share your dolls;

Share your room;

Share your bed.

You’re mad?

Don’t be selfish.

You have a job now? You’re making money?

Share your money.

You bought a car? Share your time.

Pick up food on your way home for dinner — pay for it.

I’ll pay you back.

Take your brother to his doctor’s appointment.

Wait for him.

Don’t be selfish.

You want to go to college?

Sorry, we can’t help.

You want to move far away?

Good luck! You’ll be back.

Why have you been gone so long?

You’re very selfish.

You think you’re better than us.

You’re so selfish.

Your career takes off — how exciting — can we come? No?

You’re so selfish.

You’re getting married? Can I bring my friends? No?

Wow, you’re very selfish.

I’m sick — I’m going to die. I need you here with me.

You’re busy? How selfish.

I’m coming to see you — I’ll be there in two days.

You have plans?

I can’t stay at your house?

Why are you so hateful?

I’m dying. You never loved me. You’re just like my mother.

Selfish.
